Studio Tour

Durango Open Studios - September 18-19, 2010
Durango Open Studios is a weekend tour of working art spaces in Durango Colorado. In September 2010, thirty-five artists will open their studios to the public; in these spaces, nearly forty-five artists will show their artwork alongside the processes, inspirations and tools they use to create. An educational event, Durango Open Studios is free to the public. Demonstrations will be offered to the 9R school district during the month of September and a taster exhibition will give visitors a chance to view examples of the studio artwork before choosing which locations they wish visit.
Please check back for updates on local art events this summer, and to print off a studio tour map in September.

Updates on our artists...

The Bayfield Library will be displaying the artwork of Adele and her son, Mike Kurtz for the next three months... she sent us this quick expanation:

If you can, stop by and see the unusual work we are creating. My newer work is on copper and aluminum with resin coatings set off by floater frames and wide sintra mats. Mike works with fractals that are dazzling. He may teach a fractal workshop at the library if there is enough interest. I'll help since he's only a freshman at Bayfield High School.  Check out my site too and drop us a note to let us know what you think, such as which you like best... places to show... since much of what we are doing is experimental and new for us.  We're heading for new horizons. Thanks!!!

Also, John Sheedy and the Tijuana Project have been accepted into the Durango Independent Film Festival taking place March 3 thru 7... check it!
