A juried show September 9-26 in conjunction with Durango Open Studios
From the doors that we walk through to the paint on our floors and the stacks of paper and clay that crowd our walkways, this is a show for the inspiration of creating. Area artists are invited to submit 1 to 5 images of their artwork along with 1 to 5 images of the space where they create and the process within. This show is open to artists of all media.* Space is limited; for this reason, Open Doors is a juried show. It will be held from September 9-26, 2009 at the Durango Arts Center in correlating with Durango Open Studios.

The Basics for Interested Artists
Durango Open Studios 2009

Eligibility
This event is open to all artists residing in Durango Colorado and closely surrounding areas.
BOOK
A full color book/guide of participating artists will be created and provided to artists and sponsors for distribution. More information will be provided with registration.
Categories
Open to all forms of art.
Exhibition Sales
D.O.S will not take a sales commission on artwork sold during this event.
Agreement
Registration for Durango Open Studios 2009 constitutes an agreement on the part of the participant to the conditions set forth. Participating artists agree to open their studio (11:00-4:00 unless artist chooses to extend hours) or supply artwork for alternative venues for one weekend (September 26-27). Artists agree to supply images and information pertaining to their work to be printed in the D.O.S. guide/book and used for educational or promotional purposes related to the event. D.O.S reserves the right to (respectful) final marketing decisions. No artist registered to open his/her studio for this event may withdraw after July 1 (first) 2009. (In case of medical or other specific circumstances request for withdraw may be submitted to committee for approval.)

Correlating Events
Several workshops, lectures, and demonstrations will be offered in preparation for and during the Durango Open Studios weekend. Tips on making your Open Studio strong will be supplied upon receipt of registration along with book layout and other event related information.
Alternative Venues
If you or someone you know would like to show your artwork in this event, but are unable to open your studio (location where you create) for the D.O.S. weekend, please send a request for information on Alternative Venues. Alternative Venue Artists will not be included in the D.O.S. book/guide and must send letter or email of interest no later than June 19, 2009.
